Title
By making your title stand out you have a much higher chance of getting readers to read and vote on your story. Titles that have worked for us are either personal titles – “My Biggest Investing Mistake” – or titles that quantify what people are going to read – “4 Questions to Ask Before Buying a Stock”.
Story
Please follow a few simple guidelines when writing your story.Tycoon editor Chris Rowe has the following suggestions:
- Write in a clear, concise manner – no run-on sentences – and use proper grammar and punctuation.
- Don’t write about topics so specific to you that nobody else can identify with them – people like to read about stories that they can relate to.
- Don’t be afraid to be personal though – talk about yourself a bit and how you felt or how you dealt with the situation you’re discussing in your article. Take a look at my articles and you’ll see how I bring readers inside my head and sometimes my home.
- Be Unique – Dig down deep here. Don’t tell another “me too” story, the readers want something fresh and original, so give them what they want!
