Thursday, September 4, 2008 | Wally (claycox3) Is this Spam?After world war II we had a tremendous debt and taxes were high. The GI Bill was a great idea and gave all of the returning soldiers a chance to attend college and become tax paying citizens.
If we just cut out the pork in government and tend to the necessities and everyone quits spending all their cash on foolishness and things made in foreign countries, we would soon see the greatest United States boon in History.
Give every kid, who has a passing grade and a desire to attend a college, a free ride as long as he or she keeps their grades above passing. Just think of all the taxes they will pay when they obtain a good education and make lots more money than they would have made without a college education.
Check every individual who is drawing a government subsidy to make sure they are really deserving of it or if they have scammed the government into believing they are entitled to a handout from the cradle to the grave. Many are doing just that.
Call in all paper money and anyone who turns in over $5000.00, check to see if he paid income tax on the cash. The trillions of paper money not turned in will pay our national debt.
Limit the number of terms, Congressman and Senators may serve so they will not just keep raising money to perpetuate themselves in office and forget what we sent them to Washington to do in the first place.
Keep God in the Pledge and on the money and in the schools. USA was built on belief in God and we must preserve that ideal.
