Christmas in February!
Tuesday, January 29, 2008 | Ethan Roberts Is this Spam? For all of you who love the holiday season, especially Christmas, you are about to have a special treat in 2008. This year Christmas is coming early and will be celebrated in February!
So what is in the Christmas egg nog this year? Well first we mix up a very bad home loan program, in which some very naughty people in the bank were mean to people and told them lies. Ugh, not so good. But then we add a dash of interest rate extension, three cups of FED fund rate cuts, and a pinch of tax rebates and business incentives. Mmmm, that tastes pretty good! Can we have some more, please?
Yes, Virginia, there is more! Not to be outdone, Santa Claus, also known as Mr. Democrat, wants to give rebates for senior citizens living off Social Security and to extend unemployment benefits for all the boys and girls who lost their job and still haven't found a new one. Oh Santa, you are the best!
After all, Santa does not want those boys and girls to get all mad and not vote for him this November. It is better for the boys and girls to be mad at the big bad Grinch, Mr. Bush, and not vote for any of his friends. After all, it was the Grinch who stole Christmas this year, with nobody buying all those nice homes and the boys and girls not eating enough Mickey D burgers.
But I think Santa and the Grinch are not going far enough. I think we should have Christmas every day in February this year, and Santa should just leave a big bag of money under everyone's Christmas tree! That way all the boys and girls can buy lots more toys, like $400 video games and jumbo screen TV's to watch the Superbowl this weekend.
Boys and girls should not have to be sad this year, even after they were naughty and spent too much money they did not have with their credit cards and buying those really big houses. Maybe Santa and the Grinch can even think of a way to pay off all those silly credit card balances for the boys and girls! Now that would be a Christmas story that even Jimmy Stewart could never imagine.
Yes, boys and girls, it is a wonderful life. Christmas in February for everybody!
