Utilizing the proceeds of a reverse mortgage to make investments is generally a risky concept and recommended only in cases of a fairly sophisticated, affluent homeowner/investor working in concert with a qualified financial advisor. For most reverse mortgage borrowers this probably does not make sense. It would be hard to find an iinvestment that yields more than the interest that would be accruing on the reverse mortgage without taking on some significant degree of risk.
