Wall Street's Greed hurts eighty-five percent of america

If wall street would wash it's greedy little hands and stop minipulating oil, in it's future and options trading, percentge of gain tactics, inticing, hedgefund managers and get rich quick oil driven bloodhounds, driving oil prices thru the roof, america might have a chance to survive, this pre planned hoax, creating turmoil for eighty-five percent of americans, enough is enough! you don't have to use america's bloodline, fuel, to fill your dirty little pockets, while there are some americans can't even afford gas to drive to the doctors for their suffering and schduled appointments. it's not as if wall street doesn't have thousands of other stocks to invest in and a huge amount of other commodities for option and future trading! if you want to be american, pursue coal for a while, so america could get to business and convert coal into oil at $15 a barrell. we have the technology, our government should control oil anyway, due to the importance of it's nature and how vital it is for everyone to afford transportation, being a student, senior citizen, or every day hourly wage earner, just getting by, people with families are struggling!! wall street needs to learn, to give back, to the country, that has allowed so many, to share the life of flourished wealth thru thier investments! when it comes to fuel, no one should have the right to control, minipulative pricing!! most americans have to give up on certain foods, to pay for fuel, just to drive to work, the grocery stores, raising prices, because the trucking industry can't afford it's trucking fuel! wall street needs to take the greed of speculation, out of the oil market and let oil stable at $65 a barrell and gasoline would stable at $2.20 a gallon and everyone in america or eighty-five percent or more, who can't afford to invest in the stock market, can be a little more stress free, in the hard times in our society, of today! americans need helpppp!! wall street can make it happen. show america your not as greedy as america pictures you to be!! president bush, doesn't care, can wall street step up to the plate, and give back, by leaving oil related stocks alone! just find other stocks or commoddities to drive up, or even make your money as stocks fall. i mean come on, it doestn't have to go down this way! put all of america first! if you couldn't afford to invest, how would you feel!!!!!!! fredrick montfort

    Increased oil prices are not completely wall streets fault. Its a supply and demand issue, and America's problems due to this issue are compounded by its inefficiencies.

    As for the supply and demand portion, you have to realize that we haven't found a single large, conventional oil field in decades, yet we've used more and more oil. Oil production at any given field follows a bell curve, so the current existing fields were able to keep up with the rising demand. Now however, many of these fields are going into decline, and so are producing less oil. This leads to less oil to go around. On top of that countries like China and India are becoming more industrialized. Both of those countries still have less then 15 cars per 1000 people, compared to the 750+ cars per 1000 people america has. As China and India move towards that number we have in America, demand for oil will increased in unfathomable proportions.

    When there isn't enough of something to go around, the price goes up until it settles somewhere where the thing gets sold to only those who are willing to pay the price.

    Supply and demand are bound to drive the price up oil through the roof. Wall street realizes this, so in an effort to make money, it buys before hand with the intention of selling after prices go up. Prices would go up irrespective of Wall street, but this just causes them to go up sooner. Note that Wall street has to sell eventually, so it may help to ease the supply side of the equation when the speculators do eventually sell, actually PREVENTING the problem from being as bad as it could be (though far fetched).

    The reality of the situaiton is that America accounts for about 25% of the worlds oil consumption, yet only has 4% of its population. This leads to increasing oil prices hurting America unproportionally compared to the rest of the world. Until American oil consumption comes down closer to the worldwide average, higher prices for oil serve to even the playing field, and are actually beenficial in that they encourage the production of renewable energy sources that are actually viable, instead of the hyped renewable energy sources that have been talked of thus far.

    it's about time someone tell it like it is! wall street needs to step up and take the speculation out of oil and let the big oil companies earn it, like everyone else!
