    Chris, it's what you don't know about the FDIC that will kill you. YOU ARE NOT FDIC INSURED UNTIL THE BANK IS TAKEN OVER BY THE FDIC. If they have not taken over a bank and it goes out of business, you have lost your money. I personally lost $4.5 million when an FDIC insured bank went under in 1984. When I tried to collect $100,000 from the FDIC, they told my attorney and I that they are not liable until they take over a failing bank. I spent 2 1/2 years in Federal Court with this mess, including 272 counts of banking fraud obtained by the FBI, and all I can say is that the FDIC is a bunch of liars that are grossly deceiving the American public.
